Pearson Launches New Early Edition eBook Service for iOS 6 Programming and Development Titles

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

The global education company Pearson has announced a new Early Edition eBook service, aimed at giving the readers early access to important, time-sensitive topics and technologies before the official publication.

Under this early edition service, Pearson is giving the customers an opportunity to select from a series of iOS 6 programming and development titles and come to learn about hot emerging technologies, well before they are widely available in the market.

Under this service, the readers will receive the eBooks 60-90 days prior to a book’s official publication, in which they have typically undergone preliminary stages of editing and technical review, but content and presentation are not yet final. The early edition versions will available in multiple formats such as PDF, ePUB and MOBI.

The official edition of the eBook will be sent to the customer, as soon as the official edition is published, Pearson said in a news statement.

The first set includes: The Core iOS 6 Developer's Cookbook by Erica Sadun, Learning Objective-C 2.0 by Robert Clair, and Programming in Objective-C, 5th Edition by Stephen Kochan.

“Developers can't wait for the right answers, especially from amazing teachers and trainers like Erica Sadun, Stephen Kochan, and Robert Clair. We want our customers to gain expertise as soon as the experts do. With Early Editions, they can,” publisher of Pearson Technology Group, Paul Boger noted in a statement.

As the nation's unemployment rate remains high, yet many available jobs go unfilled due to a shortage of qualified applicants, higher education institutions are seeking ways to quickly implement effective workforce training programs. These programs must be designed to rapidly retrain individuals, meet the workforce needs of local communities, and fit within institutions' shrinking budgets. To address this challenge, more than 40 higher education institutions across the country have partnered with Pearson for comprehensive and affordable online workforce education solutions.
