UPCEA Partnership with Sonic Foundry to Attract Large Audience

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

Earlier this week, the trusted market leader for video management and academic, enterprise and event webcasting, Sonic Foundry (News - Alert), Inc. (SOFO), announced its partnership with The University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) in order to webcast two conferences this week in New Orleans, L.A., as well as the annual conference in April, 2013.

Scheduled for Nov. 6-8, the new event will focus on the key strategic issues in this rapidly evolving sector of higher education, Sonic Foundry will webcast via Mediasite UPCEA’s seminar on the management of online programs.

This will include new and emerging markets, online degree and certificate programs that expand access and meet workforce needs, the use of data analytics, assessing student online learning outcomes and building for scale. From Nov. 7-9, Sonic Foundry will webcast UPCEA’s 21st Annual Marketing Seminar, a premier event for marketers in professional, continuing and online education.

From these two conferences, all six general sessions from the seminars as well as 30 concurrent sessions will be live-streamed. Moreover, for on-demand viewing, the presentations will also be archived. Via Mediasite, UPCEA’s 97th Annual Conference April 3-5, 2013 in Boston, Mass. will also be streamed live and on-demand.

To webcast this event, this is the third consecutive year Sonic Foundry will partner with UPCEA. Also, this is the second consecutive year that it has been hybrid, offering a blend of simultaneous face-to-face and virtual experiences.

Bob Hansen, UPCEA CEO concluded by stating that in order for these conferences to be experienced by a much larger audience, they are pleased to partner with Sonic Foundry. Those unable to travel to the conferences in New Orleans and Boston can simply attend remotely and participate in polls, ask questions, and interact with on-site participants. From all presentations, remote attendees will also have the audio, video and slides.
