There seems to be an overall agreement that one area of our world that could always use additional technology is education. Different entities in the private and public sector have all come to the same conclusions, that you can never have too many technological advances when talking about the education technology sector. LearnLaunch is a new company that hopes to help in that regard. The new company stated that its goals are to accelerate the growth of education technology companies on the East Coast.
LearnLaunch is looking to amass a large collection of education tech innovators and connect them with users and investors in order to grow the field. The firm released a statement in which it said it had “already identified over 150 education technology and learning startups in New England” alone. With this many companies stepping up and looking to advance education technology, LearnLaunch could be helping that particular sector grow quite a bit in a short period of time.
Among the companies that could step up and help the growth of education technology in the region are Bessemer Venture Partners and Flybridge Capital Partners.
"LearnLaunch aims to focus attention and build demand for innovative solutions in education, and will be an important resource for New England area entrepreneurs," Christopher Gabrieli of Bessemer said in a recent release.
LearnLaunch is currently working out of the Space With a Soul startup office located in Boston. The organization is also going to be holding a conference called "Across Boundaries: Innovation & The Future of Education," on February 1st and 2nd in 2013 at the MIT (News - Alert) Tang Conference Center. This conference will further attempt to bring investors and startups together in a meaningful way.
