EditShare Introduces New Systems at NAB 2012

By Patrick Lambert, TMCnet Contributing Writer

EditShare, a provider of shared media storage and end to end tapeless workflow solutions, announced new features in their products over at NAB 2012, after recently having updated them back in January. The announced features relate to the Flow and Ark software products, which are asset management tools, and backup and archiving tools. Their new offering will provide better performance for businesses using their storage solutions.

According to Andy Liebman, CEO of EditShare, “Since the introduction of our Flow and Ark products here at NAB three years ago, thousands of users have given us feedback that these tools are indispensable for managing their ever-growing volume of media.”

This is a major advance in the technology industry and this type of software solution, thanks to the new features introduced. Few software programs out there interoperate with other company's solutions so well.

Some of their recent advancements in their backup and storage solutions include improved asset management and archival capabilities. The core of their business is to seamlessly integrate high-performance shared storage solutions like XStream, Energy and Atom, with video, audio and other types of rich media, thanks to their media asset management with Flow, and archive with Ark.

The main solutions from EditShare allow high performance shared storage which in turn offers, according to them, infinite scalability and advanced project sharing, along with patented bin and project locking capabilities. Editors can pair this solution with their usual Lightworks, Avid, Adobe (News - Alert) Premiere or Final Cut Pro projects.

Some of the new features that this solution now brings to EditShare Atom users include 2 concurrent Flow Browse seats, 1 file based ingest slot, support for up to 1,000 hours of proxy files and license for management of 10 LTO5 tapes. As for the new EditShare Energy, it includes 5 concurrent Flow Browse seats, 1 file based ingest slot, support for up to 2,000 hours of proxy files, and license for management of 25 LTO5 tapes.

EditShare’s products improve efficiency and workflow collaboration every step of the way. These include video capture and playout servers, high-performance central shared storage, archiving and backup software, media asset management, and the world’s first 3-platform (Windows/OS X/Linux) professional non-linear video editing application.
