Microsoft (News - Alert) Office 365 has been chosen as the productivity solution for Hong Kong-based Emperor Group.

Office 365 was selected due to its reliability, flexibility and ability to scale with the business, and is currently being used by more than 300 users primarily within Emperor Watch and Jewelry.

Encouraged by the success of the solution, Emperor Group is now planning for a more extensive migration by increasing the users to 1,000 over time.

“Overall, we are very satisfied with the stable performance of Office 365 and have been exploring a more extensive deployment of Office 365,” said Gary Choi, chief information officer for Emperor Group. “We are also evaluating other services within Office 365, such as Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lync Online and Microsoft Lync Mobile, so we can enjoy the full benefits of the Office 365 suite.”

Emperor Group also evaluated Google (News - Alert) Apps before deciding to deploy Microsoft Office 365 solution. The company chose Office 365 as it offers a complete suite of solutions, and could address the requirements of long-term business growth and provide robust security from a trustworthy brand.

Office 365 can support multiple domains, works seamlessly across geographic boundaries and function in hybrid mode together with the current on-premises solution for Emperor Group.

The company has reported several benefits from the solution including significant savings in IT costs and labor; rich functionality and dependable technology; and requiring little or no training to switch over from existing applications.

Office 365 was recently in news when InterCall (News - Alert), a subsidiary of West Corporation and the world's largest conferencing and collaboration services provider, announced the availability of Microsoft Office 365 productivity tools to small businesses through its eCommerce portal.
