SafeNet Partners with Pitney Bowes to Secure Digital Mailbox in the Cloud

SafeNet (News - Alert) DataSecure appliances form the heart of all SafeNet data encryption and control solutions.

DataSecure appliances cover the broadest variety of data types with the help of hardware-based encryption. They provide a unified platform with data encryption and granular access control capabilities that can be applied to databases, applications, mainframe environments and individual files.

The company recently partnered with Pitney Bowes to improve the security of digital mail delivery in the cloud for consumers with the help of Volly, a Pitney Bowes digital delivery service for online mail and bill payment.

Volly allows users to receive, view, organize and manage bills, statements and other mailed content from various providers. This will be done with the help of a single, secure cloud-based online application, which makes the whole process easier and less expensive.

Offering features such as online bill payment, Volly is an opt-in, consumer-focused consolidation service. It will be available at no cost to U.S. customers.

“Cloud computing offers tremendous benefits in cost and agility but it can cause a breakdown in the traditional methods for ensuring visibility and control of infrastructure and information,” said Tsion Gonen, chief strategy officer at SafeNet. “By leveraging SafeNet’s security infrastructure, Pitney Bowes has been able to secure the digital mailbox by providing end-to-end encryption and authentication, which are essential for protecting large volumes of data within private and public clouds.”

“Now, Volly customers will be able to securely access their financial statements,” Gonen added.

Recently, the company introduced the SaaS Licensing Channel as the newest addition to its online community program. The Channel is created for software developer decision-makers looking for information about how to go beyond conventional licensing and entitlement management systems to better segment their service catalog.
