SendGrid, a provider of e-mail infrastructure services has recently announced a partnership with Rackspace (News - Alert), a specialist in e-mail hosting and cloud computing industry, to provide transactional e-mail management platform to Rackspace customers.

With this announcement, SendGrid will now be available for purchase for first generation Cloud Servers and Cloud Servers powered by OpenStack through the enhanced Cloud Tools Marketplace from Rackspace.

The Rackspace Cloud Tools Marketplace is a comprehensive catalog of innovative, third-party developed applications designed for the Rackspace open cloud. It will serve as a gateway to an open ecosystem of cloud solutions, offering customers seamless access to a broad range of tools that support Rackspace open cloud.

Customers, with the help of the marketplace, will be able to browse, review and connect to a breadth of cloud solutions focused on management, monitoring, application deployment, e-mail management and a host of other areas.

In a press release, Denise Hulce, VP, Sales and Business Development, SendGrid, said, “Our integration with Rackspace’s Cloud Tools Marketplace is yet another step in our mission to make email delivery dead simple for any web application customer in the SendGrid and Rackspace ecosystems.” “We look forward to working with Rackspace in their initiative to make third-party cloud tools broadly available to Rackspace customers and prospects.”

To eliminate the cost and complexity of maintaining e-mail servers in-house, Rackspace customers can now add SendGrid’s cloud e-mail infrastructure service. SendGrid’s SMTP and API integration options will allow developers to send and receive e-mails directly from their web and mobile applications.
