iCritical, the cloud-based Web and email security provider, has joined EuroCloud UK as its newest member.

EuroCloud UK is a diverse vendor community of cloud computing and application providers of all sizes combining their expertise, experience and insight to promote the adoption of “the Cloud” within the United Kingdom, yielding better solutions for its customers.

EuroCloud UK is where cloud businesspeople in the country meet to share their experiences, grow together and advance the future of the industry.

Officials with iCritical said that as a cloud services provider for email security, Web security and secure email archiving, the company is already participating in what EuroCloud calls the “Cloud ecosystem.”

Company officials said that the company wants to play an active role in the cloud computing community and believes forums such as EuroCloud provide a way for businesses to judge the credibility of a cloud services provider.

“Our EuroCloud membership demonstrates iCritical’s commitment to cloud computing and gives us a great opportunity to connect and network with other cloud industry participants,” said Chris Gee, managing director, iCritical.

Gee said that cloud computing is really taking off at the moment, so it’s important that customers take a good look at the reputation of the cloud provider to see how engaged they are with the wider cloud community.

“There’s a lot of trust involved when you choose to move to the cloud and we believe our membership to the EuroCloud community enhances our position as a trusted cloud services provider,” he said.

Ian Moyse, board director of EuroCloud UK and sales director at Workbooks.com, agrees that credibility plays an important role when selecting a cloud partner.

Moyse said that it is great to see iCritical, one of a continuing breed of British cloud providers, stepping up to the plate and delivering robust cloud solutions that are bringing business value to U.K. firms.

“With Data Sovereignty becoming more important to customers in cloud decisions, firms showing local commitment and cloud credibility are going to become even more important,” he said. “EuroCloud enables such firms to join together and discuss, foster and benefit from the gathering of the whole.”
