nCircle, a major player in information risk and security performance management solutions, has recently unveiled  nCircle Configuration Compliance Manager version 5.12. This release comes with the ability to both support and audit email hosting solution Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange 2007 and 2010 configurations, extends Solaris configuration auditing to support Solaris 11, and adds a variety of new configuration auditing policies.

This offering automates configuration auditing, change monitoring and configuration compliance processes, providing a clear picture of system configurations and the impact of configuration changes on compliance.

Additionally, the Configuration Compliance Manager utilizes a completely agentless architecture, requiring no software installation on monitored endpoints. Agentless monitoring dramatically reduces deployment costs and makes it possible to profile every device on the network, delivering the most comprehensive coverage and the lowest cost of ownership.

The solution includes a rich library of policies based on standards and benchmarks from NIST, CIS, DISA and Microsoft, as well as policies for specific regulations such as PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, USGCB and NERC (News - Alert).

"E-mail is the primary channel for sensitive information exchange within an organization," said Tim Erlin, director of Product Management and IT Risk for nCircle, in a statement.

Erlin added that the addition of Microsoft Exchange auditing allows its customers to better secure and manage critical business systems. It also automates compliance and reduces risks across the breadth of systems found in large enterprises.

Last month, nCircle formed a strategic partnership with Network1. Under the new agreement, Network1 will resell the email hosting provider’s entire product portfolio including Suite360, to end users and resellers throughout Latin American and the Caribbean as part of their growing security and compliance practice.
