Email Hosting Provider CloudMagic Adds More Search Possibilities to Android, iOS Apps

By Miguel Leiva-Gomez, TMCnet Contributor

Until now, people have been using CloudMagic as an app that extends their Web browsers to search through Gmail, Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange email hosting services and Twitter (News - Alert) on their accounts to access information they're looking for. Today, the app developers just revealed that their app will now search through many more services on more devices. Now, CloudMagic will be able to scramble around in Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote (News - Alert), Box, iCloud, AOL, Mail.Com, GMX, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Twitter, Google Talk, and any Microsoft Exchange-enabled email hosting service within one little textbox. At least now, the app will live up to its name!

CloudMagic is an app that indexes whatever you put into it from your accounts across the Web. It turns into a unified search engine that crawls around all of the accounts you let it look through and retrieves information from your Twitter account, your e-mails, or any documents you saved into the accounts within the services mentioned above. Because of OAuth, you will also be able to remove Web accounts from CloudMagic and rest assured that the data associated with the account will no longer exist within the app server. At any point in the future, you can re-add accounts to the robust application and let it index information from said accounts. This indexing practice makes your search much faster and doesn't require waiting around for the app to connect to all authorized services.

CloudMagic's newest version now works on the latest iPads and supports Retina display technology. It also runs on Android (News - Alert), allowing users of the open-source operating system to enjoy this application. Because of its broad support of email hosting services, this app will also be attractive to people who want to search their e-mails quickly without having to wait until they're at a desktop with Outlook opened. Newer upgrades to the app also allow you to view attachments and forward e-mails you find within your searches. Other interface improvements have also been noted in their change log, such as a new polished way to display previews.
