Novus, a telecommunications and IP distributor serving value-added resellers throughout North America, will now start distributing the first enhanced Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync Server 2013-ready OfficeMaster Gate media gateway from Ferrari electronic AG.
As the official distributor of Ferrari electronic products for the North American market, Novus provides the Ferrari electronic OfficeMaster Gate media gateway and OfficeMaster SBA survivable branch appliance to its North American resellers in flexible configurations, as either appliances or PCI (News - Alert) boards that can be installed in servers.
According to Ferrari electronic AG, its OfficeMaster Gate is a Microsoft-certified media gateway that interconnects traditional telephony and Office Communications Server 2007 R1/R2, Lync Server 2010 and Exchange Server 2007/2010.
As a cost-effective media gateway, the OfficeMaster Gate, in general, is a professional ISDN controller for OfficeMaster for Notes, OfficeMaster for SMTP, OfficeMaster for SAP (News - Alert) and OfficeMaster for Exchange.
Working in close collaboration with the Microsoft Lync product team in Redmond, Washington, Ferrari electronic AG developed the latest firmware that supports the new features of Microsoft Lync Server 2013, including the IPv6 protocol.
The firmware has been rigorously tested at Microsoft over the last few months.
Ferrari electronic’s new firmware of the OfficeMaster Gate was released to coincide with the availability of the Lync 2013 Preview on July 16, 2012.
“Ferrari electronic is currently the only European manufacturer of an enhanced gateway certified for Microsoft Lync Server 2010, and it’s the first manufacturer to integrate its gateway with Lync Server 2013,” said Chris Meehan (News - Alert), managing partner at Novus. “This creates a compelling value proposition for resellers because they can install software-based OfficeMaster Gate gateway cards now as proof of concepts and deliver a highly scalable gateway solution with a tremendous ROI to small and medium-sized businesses looking for Lync migration solutions.”
“Resellers will find the licensing options particularly appealing, since they can optionally configure gateway and survivable branch appliance functionality on a single card to reduce power consumption, minimize rack space and further reduce costs while benefiting from ongoing improvements through firmware upgrades that are free of charge within the current revision,” added Meehan.
To further promote this product, Novus has introduced the ‘Lync in a Box’ Bundle, intended to help resellers earn savings while deploying Ferrari electronic solutions with snom UC edition or Aastra phones.
A free private training program has been announced as well, for those resellers who sign up to carry the Ferrari electronic products.
According to Novus, its resellers that purchase one Ferrari electronic OfficeMaster Gateway with any combination of 50 snom UC edition phones will receive five more phones free, and resellers that purchase one Ferrari electronic OfficeMaster Gateway with any combination of 50 Aastra phones will earn a $200 credit toward a future purchase.
