Veeam Software, a provider of email hosting and virtualization management solutions for VMware vSphere and Windows Server Hyper-V, recently debuted a revamped version of its Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5 offering which will be available in Q4 2012.
This solution provides fast, flexible and reliable recovery of virtualized applications and data on VMware vSphere. It also brings together backup and replication capabilities in a single platform.
For companies relying on email hosting services, the need for data protection is growing and has become an absolute necessity. Luckily, Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5 extends Veeam's leadership in the virtualization data protection market, commented Ratmir Timashev, president and CEO at Veeam Software. He added that Veeam’s agentless backup and replication solution specifically built for virtualization was once considered niche, but now is the mainstream as virtualization itself.
For Microsoft Exchange, HP StoreVirtual VSA and LeftHand snapshots, the offering features various restore functions as well as supports both VMware vSphere 5.1 and Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V.
Complete with Veeam Explorer for Exchange, this will allow VM administrators to look inside Exchange backups to find and retrieve individual Exchange items, eliminating the need for an agent.
Additionally, advanced monitoring and reporting functions within this solution seamlessly integrates monitoring, reporting and capacity planning for Veeam Backup & Replication in a single console via the new Veeam ONE 6.5 which is part of Veeam Management Suite 6.5.
“The new features are very powerful in Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5. You have set the bar high. Veeam Explorer for Exchange is already a huge buzz for our partners. This feature will be a hit,” added Arnaud Quenum, consultant at Paris based Avnet Technology Solutions (News - Alert).
