The University of Idaho recently announced that it has chosen Trumba Corporation’s Trumba Connect for powering their web-based event calendars, available across the campus. Trumba Connect’s wide-ranging portfolio of tools, like a hosted, interactive web calendar, e-mail, and reporting services, assists universities and organizations to augment event understanding. Trumba Connect can also improve the association of universities and organizations with their audiences.

Trumba's flexible event management features can be advantageously used by University of Idaho for offering calendaring to the whole university. Individual Trumba calendars are funded by 21 colleges, offices and departments across the University. These Trumba calendars can be viewed individually or collectively as a master calendar by visitors to the site. The audience at the University can filter six event types, Academic, Arts and Culture and Recreation among others; and 11 audience types, Students, Alumni, Faculty and Staff among others; using the robust publishing features of Trumba. Visitors can therefore locate precise events in a simplified manner. Visitors can also use the keyword search feature of Trumba for locating a particular event.

In a statement, Brett Morris, Director, Strategic Internal Communication, University of Idaho said, "Trumba's reputation, proven track record successfully working with many higher ed institutions, and excellent service and support were the primary criteria that led us to selecting Trumba for our university-wide master calendar. We spent several months evaluating dozens of calendar solutions. Once we selected Trumba's hosted calendar service we were able to accomplish a lot very quickly. Trumba was extremely responsive and we have had a great experience working with their staff."

Trumba's robust calendar sharing features are utilized by University of Idaho for deploying a workflow approval process. This workflow can be used by departments for advertising their events in the rollup calendar, available across the University.
