Email hosting has become one of the most commonly used forms of communication technology in the industry, as providers allow for premium email services along with custom configurations and a large number of accounts.
TMCnet was there this week to report on all the latest email hosting news. Here are a few highlights.
With the birth of email came a fast, easy way to communicate, and a method of communication that has evolved over the years into what is now considered a reliable and preferred mode of interaction.
However, according to a recent study conducted by officebroker.com, this heavily relied upon mode of communication has a negative impact on communication skills because facial gestures can’t be replaced with the famous emoticons, TMCnet reported. While email is an intangible plus, it is inadequate by itself. And, this is what a majority of the 600 workers that used email for professional purposes also felt. While one cannot deny that people use email primarily for speed and reliability, the personal element is definitely sacrificed.
Polled results reveal the same trend with a huge 68 percent using email to communicate with people even inside the same building and 97 percent readily accepting that “putting a face to an email address was an important part of business and communications.” Although the Internet still forms a strong part of how businesses communicate, a recent move away from an over reliance on email is being witnessed. Many companies are trying to strike the right balance between speed, reliability and good, effective communication.

- Alert) products, recently revealed that it has successfully upgraded its cloud archiving capabilities.
The revamped functions will now allow end-users to access their personal archives from their chosen email client or mobile device. With the help of Mimecast’s newly introduced file archiving, users will also be able to search their archived documents from within Outlook, Mimecast Personal Portal or iPad.

Microsoft SharePoint and email hosting solution Microsoft Exchange are often touted by businesses as excellent tools to improve communication within the organization. SharePoint is also seen as a potential money saver as it allows businesses to create an information repository without too much involvement from the IT department.
Ordinary users can be empowered and turned into administrators of information pages with this solution due to the fact that they now have the ability to update key information without a middleman.
In a recent study conducted by Osterman Research and sponsored by Azaleos Corp., a consulting and management services company based in Washington that was founded by former Microsoft employees, has brought unexpected outcomes and some surprising results in the poll that involved nearly 110 businesses using MS SharePoint.
According to certain findings, 87 percent of businesses used SharePoint on-site or in a private cloud environment. Although a large percentage of respondents have seen a positive impact within information sharing and management after implementing SharePoint, 30 percent of them have seen no impact, or worse, a bad impact from leveraging the tool in their companies.
