IceWarp (News - Alert), an emerging provider of comprehensive messaging solutions for every business class, size and niche, has revealed that its email hosting server is now fully compatible with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

The IceWarp Messaging Server is IceWarp’s flagship product and is touted as being a highly integrated solution that includes a mail server with dual anti-spam and anti-virus protection. The product also comes complete with add-on options such as the IceWarp GroupWare server, instant messaging server, text messaging server, a unified WebClient interface, full mobile device synchronization and much more.

In order to power this interoperability, the company’s development team completed a series of rigorous tests proving that its messaging server can be seamlessly deployed on these platforms.

“Although we compete with Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange in the messaging space, full compatibility with the Microsoft environment is the key element of our development strategy,” said Ladislav Goc, president, IceWarp, in a statement.

“We have been licensing key patents and protocols from the Redmond giant since 2009. That allowed us to develop our own solutions that work with MS Exchange ActiveSync more effectively than Exchange itself,” Goc addd.

This option, company officials said, adds extra convenience for the use with mobile devices.

“If you have iPhone, iPad, Android (News - Alert) phone or android tablet you can set full synchronization of your mobile device in the same way as you would do with Exchange server,” Goc stated. “When specifying account for your mobile device – select account type Exchange. Your IceWarp server then will do the rest of the job and will automatically set your mobile device and your IceWarp server. It has never been never so easy before– just enter your email and password. Even your grandma can do it!”

Highlighted as a rare exception in the messaging space, IceWarp’s architecture is based on universal standards, doesn’t depend on any client and supports all mobile devices currently on the market including the latest Microsoft Surface tablet, as well as devices from Apple, Nokia (News - Alert), and other vendors.
