IceWarp Uncovers Various Nexus 10 Operating System's Defects Including within Email Hosting

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

IceWarp (News - Alert), an emerging provider of comprehensive messaging solutions including email hosting, recently identified various flaws in the Nexus 10 Operating System. The flaws have mostly been found in email search functions, email functionality and support for calendars. The firm has also confirmed the product’s full compatibility with the Google (News - Alert) tablet.

The Nexus 10 Operating System suffers from mail delete problems. Some deleted mails on the device are never deleted on the actual server. The email application also displays the sender instead of the recipient in the sent folder. It also does not allow users to save zip attachments and has to overcome various search functionality challenges, where the search button does not work in any folders other than Inbox.

In a statement, Jakub Klos, chief of Development and Founding Member of IceWarp, said, “Nexus 10 is a terrific product that will claim its rightful share of the tablet market, and IceWarp users will make the most of it using our tablet interface.”

Klos further added: “Exhaustive testing by our developers showed that we are fully compatible with the Google tablet. However, we discovered some glitches that can affect user experience. We have promptly informed Google of them and are confident that these issues would be addressed as soon as possible. Also, we would like to use this opportunity to help our colleagues in the messaging community save time and resources by letting them know that the detected flows have nothing to do with their server environment.”

“We specifically tested Nexus’ EAS functionality, because it’s an important component of the IceWarp solution,” Ladislav Goc, Icewarp president added. “Our company has been licensing key Microsoft (News - Alert) patents and protocols since 2009 and successfully developing our own products based on them. Naturally, we have the in-depth knowledge of email hosting solution MS Exchange ActiveSync - that allowed us to notice the flaws missed by other developers.”

In related company news, TMCnet reported that IceWarp signed a partner program agreement with Rackspace Hosting (News - Alert), a cloud provider.
