Machine-to-Machine (M2M) integrator, Access Wireless Data Solutions announced that it will sell, engineer and service Encore Networks’ (News - Alert) entire BANDIT line of rugged routers including the C2C.
The C2C, a cellular replacement of Plain Old Telephone Services (POTs) copper line based M2M applications, is essentially a high-availability, full featured, broadband wireless router that serves in demanding M2M applications and moves data to a public or private IP cellular infrastructure. This eliminates dependence on copper lines and also delivers VPN technology with encryption.
David Schwarz, president of Access Wireless Data Solutions, said in a release, “Our objective is not to be just a mega reseller of hardware. Instead, we focus on the relationship we have with our client’s and the value-added approach we take to be a strategic business partner rather than just a vendor.”
Access Wireless provides both commercial and industrial M2M wireless data communications products and services that optimize fixed and mobile solutions. Access Wireless serves energy and utilities, water and waste water, oil and gas, transportation, and security and surveillance markets providing wireless data communications equipment, accessories and services to ensure remote access for connectivity, data collection and field assets control.
It was revealed by officials that the Encore’s legacy protocols will help Access Wireless to evaluate customer needs and help them pick the network solutions that will preserve existing legacy installations besides reducing additional expenses.
Encore’s BANDIT is expected to be available in both commercial as well as ruggedized, industrial versions. These routers are most suitable for use in M2M applications in very harsh network environments. The BANDIT family of routers serve banking, Point of Sale, ATM, M2M, SCADA, Smart Grid, AMR/AMI telemedicine, oil and gas, industrial plant floors, security, elevator, railroad, transportation, and mass transit infrastructures applications.
“Encore’s BANDIT helps us to achieve that goal by offering a family of products that provides a graceful migration to IP bringing together a combination of legacy data protocols, security functions, and management tools that both the enterprise user wants and the service provider demands,” Schwarz added.
WorldPay US, Inc. has recently certified Encore’s line of C2C routers for wireless ATM transactions, according to a TMCnet release.
