StarTrak Information Technologies, a provider of telematics solutions for the transport and logistics industries, announced that StarTrak’s ReeferTrak has been validated to be used with TMWSuite, a system by TMW Systems, a firm that develops transportation management software.

StarTrak’s ReeferTrak provides GPS tracking with geofence, landmarking and dwell/detention functionality, and real-time monitoring of reefer status to include operating state/mode, temperatures, alarms, battery condition, fuel level, doors, hook/unhook and more.

It also features two-way control functionality to turn the reefer on/off, change reefer temperature set-point, change operating mode, pre-trip and clear alarms.

TMWSuite is enterprise transportation software that integrates all the functions and services for the end-to-end transportation process. It is scalable from regional brokers and 3PLs to national carriers and fleets. It also offers trucking software tools to manage the unique and specific needs of one’s business, whether they deal with bulk materials, flatbed loads, van, refrigerated, specialized and dedicated or private fleets.

The ReeferTrak solutions have now been tweaked to interface with TMWSuite in order to help carriers and private fleets capture real-time refrigerated trailer operational data, including trailer temperature, operational condition and GPS position.

“This joint capability from StarTrak and TMW offers timely and comprehensive temperature, fuel management, maintenance and logistical applications services to help carriers operate more effectively and efficiently,” said David Gsell, general manager of StarTrak. “TMWSuite customers can leverage the StarTrak interface for continuous visibility and full two-way control over their fleet, maximizing real savings, improving end-to-end operations and ultimately providing better service throughout the value chain.”

As a result of this development, TMW Systems customers who are active in food and temperature-controlled logistics operations now have extensive options for trailer tracking and fleet management.
