RFID products have a wide range of uses in various industries. With the new technology and new products being introduced in this field, an increasing number of companies are discovering that RFID technology can be used in ways that was not thought possible before.
And now, the technology will be used in linen management. TAGSYS RFID, a provider of item-level inventory management systems improves the functionality of the supply chain, has entered into a partnership with Hilden, a supplier of linen products and related services in UK.
With this partnership, Hilden will have the credit of being the first company to bring RFID technology in linen management. The company will make use of TAGSYS' item-level inventory management system, which utilizes the industry's most complete and scalable RFID-based infrastructure. The system, created especially for the textile services industry, consists of RFID technologies, and services. Also, for enhanced inventory visibility, Hilden has picked up TAGSYS' item-level UHF tracking capabilities, the company has stated.
Bruno Davoine, VP Sales at TAGSYS, comments, "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Hilden. Their deep knowledge in textile rental for the laundry and hotel industry and our comprehensive item-level inventory management system will offer new levels of linen visibility and management efficiency for their customers. Hilden is truly on the leading-edge of technology and, thanks to TAGSYS, they can provide RFID-ready Smart Linen that will bring a wide range of benefits to their customers.”
Recently, the company announced that it was leading a $US32 million (25 million Euros) worldwide collaborative RFID R&D program.
