ThingWorx recently announced that Libelium's Waspmote Plug & Sense! sensor platform has cleared compatibility testing with the ThingWorx platform. The ThingWorx platform has been developed as an application development platform capable of minimizing the effort that goes into building M2M solutions and sensor applications for the emerging connected world.

Libelium specializes in developing and manufacturing wireless sensor network hardware. With this certification, the Meshlium Sensor Networking Gateway (News - Alert) device has now been validated as ThingWorx-Ready.

In a statement, Alicia Asín Pérez, CEO of Libelium, said that, “Our aim is to reduce our customers’ time-to-market while remaining as a horizontal hardware provider for the Internet of Things. We achieve both of these advantages with the integration into the ThingWorx platform.”

The ThingWorx-Ready Program, which was introduced by the company only recently, was developed to enable pre-integration of products designed by both software and hardware companies along with ThingWorx’s rapid application development platform. By doing this, complexities typical to the process of creating and deploying M2M solutions can be easily broken down to a great extent.

Products developed by these companies are currently leveraged across the entire connected market ranging from software systems and cloud platforms to smart sensors, devices, gateways, and machines. By making these products "plug-and-play" the cost and risk of wireless sensor and Internet of Things deployments for end customers can be vastly minimized.

The Libelium and ThingWorx-Ready collaboration has resulted in the development of a pre-integrated solution capable of reducing time to market and overall solution costs for customers.
