CARWINGS is a service in Japan that makes car navigation systems easier by connecting them to mobile phones. It offers various services to support eco-driving and ease congestion, and facilitates more fuel-efficient driving. CARWINGS brings together fuel consumption data from drivers' past rides to inform them of their fuel consumption pattern.
Recently, Garmin (News - Alert) announced the CARWINGS MINI Telematics PND (Personal Navigation Device) for Dongfeng Nissan vehicles in China. With this new combination, Garmin’s navigation technology is now connected with services such as friend finder, news, traffic information, SMS, weather, and various other features. All these services will be available through a customer service button.
CARWINGS MINI consists of various connected services to offer drivers relevant information while on the road. Making it easy to meet up, a friend finder feature enables drivers to share their position with friends and family, the company has stated.

Recently, the company provided truck drivers a taste of modern technology in their vehicles. The company introduced dezl 760, its first trucking navigator, with a seven-inch display and a new Active Lane Guidance feature to assist truckers to easily navigate intersections and exits. The dezl 760 consists of route calculation based on truck attributes, trucking points of interest (POI), Hours of Service (HOS) logging, an extra-loud speaker and backup camera support.
