The ongoing Kuwait International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (KIPCE) is co-organized by the society of petroleum engineers (SPE) and Kuwait University.
MiX Telematics, a global provider of fleet management, driver safety and vehicle tracking solutions, will use the event to demo its proven solutions for the oil and gas industry, highlighting its safety and efficiency benefits at Stand C15 at the Hilton Kuwait Resort, noted officials.
These fleet management solutions reportedly provide customers with 24-hour access to vehicle location data, reporting tools that help identify, manage and mitigate driver risk, and other value-added services like consulting services and driver training.
Operators are therefore comprehensively equipped to make informed and timely decisions pertaining to overall performance and safety.
In light of information by the International Association of Oil and Gas producers, that attributed 80 percent of motor accidents to human error, Alan Hall (News - Alert), managing director at MiX Telematics (Middle East and Australasia), observed that it was critical for oil and gas companies to commit to a solution that helps monitor and improve driver safety.
He advocated the company's offering, which he said “combines In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems with driver training, presenting a one-stop safety solution for oil and gas companies.”
Emphasizing the greater advantages of massive efficiencies in terms of reduction in fuel cost and lowered vehicle maintenance cost, reduced carbon emissions and subsequent eco-friendly approach, Hall cited the example of a Middle East Customer that had benefited immensely in just six weeks of implementing a MiX Telematics solution.
Quoting figures, Hall said the customer saw a 72-percent sustained improvement in driver behavior in just six weeks, and a 15-percent reduction in fuel cost within 12 months of installation.MiX Telematics, a global provider of driver safety, vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, continues to grow its business around the world as evidenced by strong performance in the first half of its 2012/13 financial year.
Due to the extension of existing enterprise contracts, as well as the addition of new mega fleets across various industries in various countries, MiX Telematics increased its revenue by 20.3 percent and its operating profit by an impressive 60.8 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
