SpeedGauge Collaborates with International Telematics - a Win-Win for Both

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Telematics helps fleet owners and managers monitor vehicles by providing them with information on how well the drivers and vehicles are behaving. Its use is widening in scope and customer demand for vehicle on-board diagnostics is increasing.

Perhaps it’s understandable, then, why SpeedGauge, the San Francisco-based provider of advanced business intelligence and analytics to the commercial transportation industry, decided to team up with International Telematics.

The partnership is expected to help SpeedGauge make further inroads into the Australian and New Zealand markets, and impact International Telematics positively by helping it increase its presence in the North American market.

International Telematics customers get valuable insights about driver behavior and data that helps increase fuel efficiency, lower operating cost and improve compliance. These solutions perfectly complement the SpeedGauge platform, which combines safety, risk, GPS analysis and coaching tools to enable smarter and safer driving.

Australian fleet owners and managers are expected to find the partnership beneficial as it helps comply with the laws that hold them liable for the actions and behavior of drivers. Speed alerts, reports and other vehicle diagnostics affect occupational health and safety, vehicle running and maintenance, and will be additional advantages to the association.

SpeedGauge’s software is available through its network of GPS fleet tracking partners and third-party providers around the globe, and can be deployed quickly and seamlessly as it doesn't require fleet owners to either install additional equipment or pay installation fees.

This collaboration with SpeedGuage is therefore expected to further International Telematics' goal of proactively improving customers’ profitability and competitive advantage, while putting extraordinary value within their reach.

SpeedGauge also announced that the number of its resellers has increased to become more than double what it was in the beginning of 2011. Entering new global markets like Canada and Australasia, the company has been tracking a regular month-over-month growth for the past four years.

It has great expansion plans for the future.
