Clarion Corporation of America, a provider of consumer and industrial mobile electronics, announced the addition of two new infotainment in-vehicle devices, namely NX603 and the FX503, which can provide connectivity to satellite radio from SiriusXM, Android and iPhone (News - Alert) smartphones, as well as provide access to multiple in-vehicle apps via the company’s Smart Access Cloud Server.
Based in Cypress, California, Clarion Corporation of America is a subsidiary of Japan-based Clarion Co. Ltd. It is involved in the research, development, engineering, design, manufacturing, sales and marketing of mobile entertainment, navigation, infotainment, communication, safety and security products for the automotive, marine, recreational vehicle, commercial fleet and heavy industry environments.
Clarion's new NX603 is an in-dash navigation source unit featuring built-in Bluetooth capabilities, including a microphone, CD/DVD/SD/USB ports, 8GB micro SD card for map storage and a second SD card slot to access entertainment files.
Available for $999.99 at MSRP, the new NX603 device features NNG’s iGo Primo navigation software as part of its built-in applications as well as the company’s map system to provide users with latest updated maps.
It is also incorporated with 8GB Micro SD Card (News - Alert) for map storage.
Sporting a 6.2-inch WVGA touch panels’ display, the new NX603 device also features an HDMI port for smartphone mirroring, variable color key illumination along with animated GUI, MOSFET 50W x 4, 4V.6ch RCA output, LPF/HPF for Subwoofer, 3-band PEQ, rear USB as well as iPod/iPhone direct control via USB, and more.
The second device, introduced along with NX603, is FX503, which is Clarion's first double DIN digital media receiver. Priced at MSRP $799.99, it has a sleek design and is similar to NX603 in terms of Smart Access compatibility, HDMI, AM/FM/MicroSD –MP3/WMA/MP4, a 6.2-inch WVGA Touch Panel display, built-in Bluetooth for HFP/A2DP, optional external Bluetooth microphone, Pandora (News - Alert) control via iPhone USB, and much more.
Designed and developed with today's mobile lifestyle and connectivity in mind, both new devices are SiriusXM-Ready via the optional SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit.
In addition, both devices are capable of receiving SiriusXM's commercial-free music, premier sports talk and live events, comedy, news, exclusive talk and entertainment, and SiriusXM Latino.
As quoted by Clarion, both devices will be available in the second quarter of 2013, and are currently showcased at the ongoing 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) in Las Vegas.
In recent news, Clarion also announced the addition of WAZE social traffic and navigation app on the Smart Access cloud server.
