Empirix's Improved Service Assurance Platform Clarifies Nature of Service Delivery Issues

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

Empirix (News - Alert) recently announced improvements to its E-XMS service assurance platform to enable a better understanding of multi-system, data-intensive mobile solutions. Operators using the Empirix E-XMS platform will be able to better understand advanced range wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions that serve to improve in-vehicle experience and driving performance.

In a statement, Steve Kish, director of product management at Empirix, said that, “Many of the leading mobile service providers we work with are leveraging their technical assets and developing new solutions optimized to deliver superior service quality. Wireless vehicle solutions are a great example. Unlike supporting an app downloaded to a smartphone, telematics solutions span multiple applications, data sources, and network environments.”

“This complexity makes problems difficult to isolate and the performance measure requires an innovative approach,” he added. “Our customers requested an assurance and analytics solution to rapidly diagnose issues with these communications and we delivered.”

Empirix’s solutions have been designed to eliminate all the complexities in assuring multi-system, data-intensive mobile solutions. The company’s E-XMS platform, a high-capacity, carrier-grade solution, makes it easy for service providers to monitor extensive operator-to-manufacturer-to-vehicle communications that drive telematics.

To provide a comprehensive user experience, Empirix enables the analysis of network and application performance, and supports emergency service requests, vehicle health checks and smartphone-enabled solutions.

The E-XMS platform also supports in-vehicle and driving-relevant solutions, which include navigation, parts purchasing and media downloads, among others.

Gartner (News - Alert) analysts Katja Ruud and Thilo Koslowski, said that, “The growing momentum in M2M generally, including M2M for automotive, has opened up new opportunities for service providers worldwide. M2M is typically an enabling technology; it is integrated into existing applications that were developed without reference to eventual integration and support of cellular technology.”

Empirix has developed the E-XMS solution as a part of the Empirix Systems Architecture (ESA), designed as an advanced testing and monitoring technology offering featuring capabilities such as predictive analytics and business intelligence.

This flexible, integrated solution allows for the seamless addition of new capabilities, and makes it easy for companies to use their existing infrastructure investments to improve the availability of important systems – while enhancing revenue growth.
