Embedded M2M Solutions Week in Review

By Rachel Ramsey, Content Director

One of the most important players in the Internet of Things and machine to machine (M2M) ecosystem is the carrier and service provider. Sprint (News - Alert) works to provide reliable and high-speed connections for a variety of industries and M2M applications, and has its hands in many different projects and solutions today.

It’s receiving awards for its contributions to the industry – Sprint Wholesale Solutions was recently recognized for voice value performance with an ATLANTIC-ACM award for its 2014 U.S. Long Haul Wholesale Report Card. This is not the first time the company has been recognized by ATLANTIC-ACM; for three years it received an award for No. 1 performance in network and customer service, as well as recognition in brand and voice quality categories.

Sprint Panorama is the flagship product from Sprint Wholesale, offering a proprietary label wireless service so companies can offer wireless voice, phone or data service under their own brand or preferred brand. Sprint Panorama gets its name from the 360-degree view it provides MNVOs in connecting with their customers. Sprint is invested in MNVOs’ success, so it focuses on key areas needed to succeed, including insight into wireless networks, hardware, customer data and innovative technology.

Sprint is also working to improve the next generation of healthcare. Sprint Accelerator is a three-month program for ten companies in Kansas City to help build the future of mobile health. Powered by Techstars, Sprint Accelerator gives these ten companies access to up to $120,000 in seed funding, support from experts in health, technology and entrepreneurship fields, access to carrier technology and APIs, and access to testing labs, research facilities and network engineers in order to fuel mobile health innovation.

In other M2M news this week, RacoWireless was recognized by Frost & Sullivan for its M2M efforts. Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) cited the company’s product portfolio, focus on new product development and speed of execution as reasons it gave RacoWireless the award. One of its major products is its Omega Management Suite, which makes managing M2M devices and implementing new business models easier.
