CSR (News - Alert) announced in July 2014 its release of the CSRmesh Development Kit that will aid the developers looking to use CSRmesh Bluetooth Smart protocal. CSRmesh was launched in February 2014 and featured the ability to connect multiple Blutetooth Smart devices and be controlled under one gadget, either a smartphone, tablet, or PC.
Included in the kit is a USB programmer, CSRmesh Bluetooth Smart development boards, and access to the software development kit (SDK). This kit is aimed to simplify things for product designers who want their devices to be networked together. Messages can be sent to the group connected or to a single individual. People can also be connected to an unlimited number of networks.
The CSRmesh allows lights that are Bluetooth Smart enabled can be controlled from anywhere using any device that supports the Bluetooth Smart standard. CSRmesh doesn’t have a limited range, things can be controlled locally or wherever you may be. A smartphone or PC can also control the heating, and gather information from the security system.
Rick Walker, marketing manager for Internet-of-Things (IoT) at CSR said, “By launching the CSRmesh Development Kit we are equipping developers with the tools they need to innovate and take advantage of the many opportunities offered by the IoT. We are helping them to bring networked devices to market as quickly and simply as possible.”
CSR says that its innovations have given them a leadership position in the Bluetooth market. They think it will gain attention in the area of Internet-of-Things because people are looking to control as much as they can from their smart devices from anywhere.
Select CSR developers have made the kit available. Companies like Samsung (News - Alert) have already made use of CSRmesh for its smart bulb lighting solutions.
