The way businesses manage their fleets and assets today has completely changed thanks to telematics and machine to machine (M2M) technology. Managers can track driver behavior, fleet locations, fuel efficiency, maintenance reports, safety and security to improve productivity, lower costs – including insurance rates and fuel expenses – and gain business intelligence.
Spireon’s FleetLocate mobile resource management (MRM) solutions will now be available to fleet operators over the Sprint (News - Alert) network. With this partnership, businesses can manage and track fleet vehicles, improve asset usage and reduce loss and theft.
FleetLocate services include telematics, local fleet management, asset and trailer intelligence and enterprise fleet solutions. Its GPS tracking system enables managers to monitor and manage entire fleets in real-time.
“We are excited about the possibilities that this strategic agreement between Sprint and Spireon offers to our companies and to the marketplace,” says Mohamad Nasser, director of M2M Product, Platforms and Marketing for Sprint. “Spireon is a recognized leader in MRM, delivering powerful solutions with actionable data all wrapped in a simple package with a unique focus on helping customers realize their maximum ROI.”
Customers will be able to include FleetLocate services on their Sprint bills, seamlessly integrating and simplifying the collaborative offering.
Spireon’s M2M platforms support more than 1.7 million subscribers, and Sprint’s 4G network reaches over 35 markets and counting, while its 3G network reaches more than 262 million people. The combination of the two brings reliable connectivity to business-critical applications and solutions.
“We are honored to be selected by Sprint as a preferred supplier, and are pleased to be working with the wireless leader to connect their customers to rich data translated as actionable business intelligence,” said Brad Jarvis, chief marketing officer and executive vice president of products for Spireon. “This alliance is a win for everyone, especially Sprint customers, who will see significant competitive advantages that come with being able to capture and leverage a wealth of data in real time.”
This isn’t Sprint’s first move into fleet management services. It also partners with Geotab, a provider of telematics and GPS fleet management systems, to bring Geotab’s solutions to federal agencies, commercial fleet operators, state and local government entities and authorized non-profit organizations.
