Big Tall Direct Shifts to "After Christmas Clearance" Strategy

Big Tall Direct, one of the largest online web-sellers of clothes for the big and tall man, has experienced a downward sales trend this month after a fairly flat selling period over Black Friday. "Traffic has fallen short of our historical numbers and below our expectations given the economic and competitive environment in which we operate," added Mr. Schlein.
A number of factors could explain the shortfall including changes to search algorithms by Google that impacted rankings on their website when buyers search for big and tall clothes, the stagnant economy, and current news events that, frankly, have taken the joy out of the season. Lastly, the competitive landscape has changed with many major department and discount stores dabbling in the online selling space for the big and tall man.
