Red Box and Natterbox Partner on Mobile Call Recording Service

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Red Box (News - Alert) Recorders and Natterbox, a cloud voice services provider, recently announced that they have partnered up to provide an on-network, FSA-compliant mobile call recording service. This new service allows recordings to be stored securely at multitenant data centers or onsite, but promises to leave out the operational issues of other similar services and solutions.

"The partnership brings together two leading businesses within the marketplace to deliver an highly-effective technology tool, so we look forward to working closely with Natterbox to take advantage of the opportunities that exist," said Lee Jones, COO of Red Box Recorders (News - Alert).

Natterbox is contributing its SIM-based mobile recording technology to the service, partnered with Red Box's voice recording system. This enables recordings to be directly delivered to a client premise or hosted Red Box solution via the cloud. This capability is likely to be of particular interest to banks and other financial services businesses as it offers them an effective alternative to conference-based mobile recording solutions, while at the same time enabling the consolidation of all voice recording requirements across all communications.

"Many financial services organizations are now reviewing their recording strategies having signed short-term deals last year in order to simply meet the incoming regulatory changes," said Neil Hammerton, CEO at Natterbox. "We have teamed up with Red Box in order to develop an alternative offering for prospects that meets the needs of their business in terms of usability and functionality. This partnership is focused on giving customers flexibility and choice."

This secure, on-network call recording service doesn't require an application be installed on the device, unlike conference-based solutions, resulting in an improved user experience as well as greater flexibility.

Earlier this year, Natterbox signed an agreement with Fujitsu, providing the Japanese manufacturer with exclusive rights to use Natterbox's network-based call recording and retention management services for their mobile devices.
