Cloud-based voice services provider, Natterbox, recently signed a partnership with Orange (News - Alert) Business Services - Trading Solutions, one of the top European network operators for both mobile and broadband Internet services, enabling on-network mobile call recording for Orange customers.
Being network-based, this solution doesn't require users install any apps or software of any kind, and will work on every Orange partner network.
Beyond this, the partnership allows any organization regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to license the service and become compliant with legislation on mobile call recording.
"Mobile call recording is something that has become a necessity to regulated financial services companies in the last year," Neil Hammerton, CEO at Natterbox, said in a statement. "Failing to comply could land organisations in serious legal trouble and they have been crying out for a simple, secure, non-disruptive solution."
Hammerton went on to add that when the FSA rules were first introduced, many businesses tried an app-based approach to achieve call recording that was compliant. However, many found that these solutions tended to be overly complex and easily circumvented.
"Our on-network solution solves that problem and this new partnership with Orange Business Services (News - Alert) - Trading Solutions will make it even more accessible to thousands of business users," Hammerton concluded.
Natterbox also recently partnered with Red Box Recorders to provide a similar on-network, FSA-compliant mobile call recording service. However, Red Box's (News - Alert) voice recording system also makes it possible for recordings to be delivered directly to the client's premises or to Red Box's hosted cloud storage solution.
In other news, Orange Business Services subsidiary, Orange IT&L@bs Canada, was accepted as a Premium Partner in the Nexenta Partner Program by Nexenta Systems, a major player in the OpenStorage solutions sector. Acceptance into the Nexenta Partner Program is by invitation only, signifying that Orange has met the rigorous criteria necessary to become a Premium Partner.
