EMC (News - Alert) Corporation, enables businesses and service providers to transform operations and deliver IT as a service and has accelerated the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments store and protect valuable data. Recently, it has been recognized as a leader by Gartner (News - Alert), Inc., in its 2012 "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management (ECM)."
"We are very pleased with our leadership position and recognition for our vision and execution,” noted Rohit Ghai, vice president, products, EMC Information Intelligence Group, in a statement.
According to Gartner, many enterprises are moving well beyond the basic uses of ECM and are focusing on establishing strong process efficiency. As a result, organizations are increasingly regarding ECM as an environment for solutions that fit their business needs.
In addition, more vendors are offering a lightweight cloud-based environment to address emerging market needs and ECM is witnessing increased usage on mobile devices. ECM adoption is on the rise as it moves away from networked back-office environments. In such a scenario, Documentum ECM delivers the most comprehensive and highly-integrated ECM platform for managing the entire information life-cycle. Customers can collaborate, manage, access and control information from anywhere, at any time, from any device.
The Information Intelligence Group, a division of EMC, has been proactive in delivering cloud-based solutions and services by providing access to the right information at the right time in the right context.
ECM Corporation continues to demonstrate value and growth with total software revenue increasing 11.1 percent annually and touched $4.3 billion in 2011.
The company's latest EMC On Demand offering, a hybrid cloud deployment model for enterprise-class applications, helps customers accelerate their journey to the cloud, stay current on the latest software releases and simplify complex applications. Also, Ghai indicated that as pioneers in the ECM market, EMC Corp, would continue to innovate next-generation cloud solutions that connected information to work as it had the technology and knowledge to support IT and businesses migrating to the cloud.
