iPass and Singapore Telecom Offer Wi-Fi to Enterprise Customers

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) has partnered with iPass to offer Wi-Fi services to enterprise customers. SingTel will provide iPass Open Mobile (News - Alert) to enterprises to enable customers to be connected to the Wi-Fi hotspot network with more than one million venues worldwide.

"SingTel is leading and shaping the digital communications space in the Asia-Pacific region. Our partnership with SingTel (News - Alert) validates the value of iPass Open Mobile for managing the mobility needs of enterprises worldwide," said Christophe Culine, senior vice-president and general manager, iPass (News - Alert) Enterprise, in a statement.

Culine said that iPass Open Mobile helps mobile operators meet the evolving demands of its customers by offering a complementary Wi-Fi data roaming service that advances new revenue streams for the growing numbers of smartphone and tablets Wi-Fi devices.

In October, iPass, the global Wi-Fi roaming player for enterprises and telecom service providers, had announced that Etisalat (News - Alert) – the Middle East’s largest telecom operator with over 167 million subscribers in its markets – has joined the iPass Open Mobile Exchange (iPass OMX) to  offer its consumer and enterprise customers a global Wi-Fi data roaming service.

iPass OMX is the world’s largest commercial Wi-Fi Roaming and Exchange platform for telecom service providers that supplies connections to the world’s largest commercial Wi-Fi network. Through a single interface, iPass connects over 140 Wi-Fi network operators with certified WISPr interoperability in 113 countries and territories worldwide.

With frequent international journeys, business travelers and families in the Middle East will be able to use smartphones and tablets to get connected at over a million Wi-Fi hotspots in the global iPass network, at more affordable rates, fast connection speeds and more convenience.
