The data captured by the enterprise on a daily basis must address key business initiatives. At the same time, this data must be managed and stored according to these initiatives, putting more strain on the physical data center.
To address these challenges, Panduit offers a full line of enterprise solutions designed for the management of the physical infrastructure. The Physical Infrastructure Manager (PIM) Software Platform offered by Panduit is a portfolio of enterprise solutions designed for the tracking of utilization and allocation of the essential IT assets that make up the data center and support users and applications throughout the enterprise.
The Panduit platform, according to this
page, provides the foundation necessary to support the optimal Data Center Infrastructure (DCIM) through the application of timely and accurate documentation of the physical assets within the enterprise, as well as enhanced visibility into any movement of those assets and process-determined integration with any management systems put in place.
The PIM software platform is enhanced with the PanView iQ (PVoQ) System Hardware, as well as devices provided by third parties. When working together, the combined solution delivers an end-to-end physical-to-logical exposure of not just the
data center, but the enterprise as a whole. As a result, the data center manager can easily minimize the time from delivery of the asset to deployment, allowing for the effective reclaiming, re-purposing and re-deployment of the assets.
While manual record keeping can create unnecessary management time and creates an environment for errors, PIM allows for the centralization of the gathering and demonstration of the asset attributes, including power and environment elements, space and port availability and
connectivity to ensure all enterprise solutions put in place can support essential applications. The result is the efficient optimization of the power, space and cooling resources within the data center.
One Panduit customer says it very well. Kevin Lane, VP and CIO at Silver Cross Hospital highlighted that his organization was concerned about audit ability access to the network and the ability to identify breaches and unauthorized connectivity. Vulnerabilities that relate to patient information security and HIPAA guidelines were of top priority and Panduit fit the need with its enterprise solutions.
Silver Cross Hospital selected Panduit’s enterprise solutions due to its complete end-to-end logical to physical representation of the infrastructure and data center that can easily enhanced the organization’s ability to enhance its overall ability to provide the highest possible levels of protection when it comes to health information security and privacy.
