With threats to network increasing at an alarming rate, companies are finding they need experts to secure their networks. Managed security services safeguard companies’ networks as the providers of this service have the necessary resources and skill to deal with various types of threats to a network.

One such managed security services provider, Orange (News - Alert) Business Services, recently reported having received a positive rating from Gartner in its “MarketScope for Managed Security Services in Europe” report.

According to Orange Business Services (News - Alert), this positive rating by Gartner showcases the company’s ability to provide managed security solutions with a strong emphasis on networks.

Orange Business Services has decades of experience in providing managed security services. The company has clients all over the world, including 1.4 million mobile data users, and manages its services from eight Security Operation Centers (SOC) spread across the world.

The firm is certified by PCI (News - Alert) DSS for payment card infrastructure.

“With an increasingly complex regulatory environment, more devices and networks, new ways of working (BYOD, etc.), and cloud computing environments, enterprises are facing segmented and complex security challenges," said Nicolas Furgé, head of Security Business Unit, Orange Business Services. "We feel this Gartner (News - Alert) rating recognizes that Orange Business Services is a global managed security services player. In particular, we are pleased that surveyed customers spoke favorably of Orange's large, regional Internet gateways and the related security features such as connectivity, filtering, proxies, remote access and redundancy.”

Many companies make use of Orange’s products to improve their network services. In June 2011, the company was selected by Givaudan to improve its network acceleration process. This will help Givaudan to reduce costs as it does not have to invest in higher bandwidth.

A variety of applications frequently used by the company have become much faster, and do not use as much bandwidth as they did before.
