SOTI, Webroot Collaborate to Deliver Secure Enterprise Mobility
By Shamila Janakiraman
Webroot, a specialist in cloud-based security intelligence solutions, has partnered with SOTI, a provider of enterprise mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
The partnership has SOTI incorporate Webroot’s security intelligence and secure Web browsing capabilities into MobiControl V10 its enterprise-grade MDM solution. It is designed to deliver cloud-based management, as well as anti-malware and antivirus solutions for mobile devices.
Carl Rodrigues, president and CEO at SOTI said, “IT administrators need a solution that easily manages and defends their enterprise mobility ecosystem without compromise. Webroot’s security intelligence and secure browsing capabilities enable MobiControl V10 to meet and exceed that need, continuing MobiControl’s leadership in the MDM industry.”
The increased use of mobile devices and the deployment of a large mobile workforce make it difficult for firms to secure and manage enterprise mobility. A Webroot survey revealed that many companies spent 40 or more IT employee hours each month to manage the security of devices and other related activities.
Also, companies were concerned with loss of company or customer data via mobile devices, as well as with mobile malware infections. It was found that many companies did not install security features on their smartphones or tablets.
SOTI’s scalable Mobile Device Management enables customers to secure data and networks, integrate application environments and optimize operations management cost effectively. The MobiControl platform also scales with size and complexity.
The platform features Web filtering, real-time antivirus, malware protection, help desk suite, telecom expense management, and a secure content library.
MobiControl V10 with Webroot Security Intelligence and secure Web browsing protects devices against malware and Web-based threats by scanning applications and files for viruses, spyware and Trojans automatically.
It is based on the Webroot Intelligence Network for optimizing threat defense.
Dick Williams, CEO at Webroot remarked, “Today the endpoint is the perimeter of the enterprise network. Protecting that network and the data within it along with an increasingly mobile workforce must be a priority for IT managers, and with MobiControl V10 and Webroot they can do that without sacrificing other priorities.”
Recently, Anittel, a managed service provider, picked Webroot solutions to effectively manage customer’s endpoint security from the cloud, at reduced overhead costs. The four-year agreement will ensure that Webroot SecureAnywhere Business - Endpoint Protection is deployed across up to 10,000 customer endpoints.
