Tedeschi Food Shops Completes MegaPath MPLS Network Upgrade
By Jyothi Shanbhag
Rockland, Mass.-based convenience store company, Tedeschi Food Shops, has recently gone for an MPLS network upgrade for seamless communications capabilities between its headquarters and stores.
Tedeschi Food Shops is one of New England's most trusted family-owned and -operated convenience store chains, with more than $600 million in annual revenue.
The company operates 192 convenience store locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
The network upgrade is enabling Tedeschi to use a mix of Ethernet, T1 and DSL that helps in communicating easily between its headquarters and its store locations. This solution also helps in transferring e-mails, updating order processing, sending information for promotional materials to its stores, providing greater access to information and reporting services, and performing various other functions.
These services also offer "grow as you go" speed enhancements that help Tedeschi to cater to future demands, yielding a lower total cost of ownership of technology.
“We were already using MegaPath (News - Alert) for our network and we knew the team there shared our high standards for customer service. When we wanted to move forward with this major bandwidth boost, MegaPath was the logical choice for a scalable, full-featured, and cost-effective solution,” said Doug New, chief information officer, Tedeschi Food Shops. “Now, with MegaPath's Ethernet over Copper, T1 and DSL, we have a high-performance, cost-effective MPLS network solution in place that will enable us to deliver the best customer experience possible, while also enabling compliance with industry regulations.”
Apart from this, Tedeschi deployed the MegaPath PCI (News - Alert) Compliance Coverage package as well. The campaign is designed to solve the tough issues of log, vulnerability and security information management.
The company’s compliance services can help firms meet numerous regulatory needs, including PCI DSS, FFIEC/NCUA, HIPAA/HITECH, GLBA and SOX.
"As an active member of the PCI Security Standards Council, the team at MegaPath has an in-depth understanding of the requirements and challenges that retailers face to maintain compliance with corporate and industry regulations," said Dan Foster (News - Alert), president of Business Markets, MegaPath. "That knowledge, combined with our high-performance MPLS network capabilities, enables customers like Tedeschi Food Shops to purchase our network and compliance services with the confidence that they have a reliable data connection to run their business and their sensitive corporate and customer data will remain secure."
