Emerson (News - Alert) Network Power has become member of HP AllianceONE Partner Program to further enhance the application performance while bringing down the complexity for clients.

HP AllianceONE Partner Program helps partners develop and deliver solutions across a wide array of specializations—including the cloud, business intelligence, management, security, hosting, storage management, networking and many more. HP offers all AllianceONE members aggressive discounts on HP products (availability and pricing may vary by region) for development, demo and testing purposes.

As the first move of this membership, Emerson Network Power’s value added distributor Arrow Electronics will incorporate Emerson’s new PCI (News - Alert) Express media processing accelerator card, PCIE-8120, in servers such as the HP ProLiant DL380p.

Brian Brown, vice president and general manager of marketing and services for Emerson Network Power’s (News - Alert) Embedded Computing business, said: “Emerson Network Power’s innovative media processing solution – the PCIE-8120 card - works with clients’ existing server infrastructure to provide a significantly more effective way to simultaneously improve performance and reduce costs.”

Brown said that by joining the HP AllianceONE partner program, they are helping customers simplify and accelerate the deployment of new voice and video services consistent with the HP Converged Infrastructure strategy.

Emerson Network Power claims that single PCIE-8120 cards can easily transcode over 7000 bidirectional voice channels from G.711 to G.729A. In addition, this five card option to add multiple cards to a single server for even higher performance, enables users to add high density, highly scalable voice and video processing to network applications, while using less space, less power and at lower cost than the alternative of adding more servers or suffering significantly reduced application performance.

Werner Schaefer, general manager, worldwide OEM & Telecommunications for Industry Standard Servers & Software, HP, said: “Through HP AllianceONE, Emerson Network Power has the opportunity to leverage tools that will help create competitive advantages for customers and more easily develop and market offerings as part of Emerson’s solution set.”

Schaefer said that the HP ProLiant DL380 is the number one selling server in the world, due in part to the platform’s incredible versatility and their company is pleased that Emerson Network Power’s PCIE-8120 takes advantage of the ProLiant DL380p Gen 8 versatility for both non-NEBS and NEBS telecom environments.
