Solana Networks Inks OEM Agreement with Lumeta

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Solana Networks, a provider of route analytics and LAN discovery products, has entered into an original equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Lumeta.

Lumeta is a provider of network discovery and visibility solutions. The company plans to integrate technologies from Solana Network’s SmartHawk product line into the Lumeta IPsonar product suite.

Lumeta, a recognized visionary in network discovery and visibility, has selected Solana as an OEM partner and “we believe that our technology will help Lumeta to further advance their position in the market.” said Nisan Rowhani (News - Alert), vice president of product management at Solana Networks

Michael Markulec, chief operating officer at Lumeta, said that the company’s large enterprise and government customers rely on it for the most accurate, advanced and up-to-date situational awareness of the network in support of large-scale cybersecurity operations.

Lumeta has partnered with Solana Networks (News - Alert) because the SmartHawk product offers truly innovative network monitoring and discovery technologies, including patented route analytics technology, Markulec said.

Markulec said that the core technology addresses the element of change, which complicates cybersecurity efforts, and is so critical to protecting high-value networks against constantly changing, evolving threats.

For many vital uses -- advanced network monitoring, VoIP roll-outs, planning and most recently cyber-security applications -- Solana Network’s network discovery and diagnostics technologies have been leveraged.

Designed to scale to the largest global IT networks, Solana’s Layer 2 discovery engine, provides in-depth visibility into complex heterogeneous LAN environments. Company officials said that this enables network operators to visualize and analyze their switched topology with an efficient discovery method.

Solana’s Route Analytics technology offers similar functionality to address the notoriously dynamic IP cloud by passively analyzing the Layer 3 routing protocols. Company officials said that this helps in gaining real-time insight into the behavior of complex converged networks.

“This partnership with Lumeta, who has a notable list of prestigious clients, further validates the significance of Solana Network’s technologies and will help open new doors for the company,” Rowhan said.

In September, NorthwesTel selected Solana Networks to carry out an audit of its IP network.
