HipLogic, a dealer in mobile user experience, has stated the launch of *Spark, a next-generation Mobile 2.0 (News - Alert) platform that gives smartphone and mass market phone users the ultimate active Home screen experience.

*Spark is a geo-aware, socially integrated, interactive set-top box for Android or Symbian (News - Alert) Smartphone. Spark beta is currently available for free download at this link. 

According to the company, *Spark replaces the Home screen on the Android or Symbian phone with one that is elegant, organized, clean, simple and personalized once downloaded. The main difference between *Spark and HipLogic (News - Alert) Live is that *Spark is a fully dynamic and interactive Phonetop that shows multiple widgets at the same time, whereas HipLogic lets the user see one widget on the Home screen. *Spark is launched with the Weather module, Headlines Module, and Status Module which can be turned off or on and rearranged in any order. 

The Weather module is a Geo-aware module that displays current temperatures and extended forecasts for multiple cities. Headlines module helps to view live news, entertainment, sports, politics, opinion and other news streams on the phone's home screen and easily share news links and/or blog about them directly from *Spark via Facebook (News - Alert), Twitter or SMS. Status module updates the user’s social status to multiple social networks, like Facebook and Twitter, at once. *Spark's Social Streams keeps track of the latest Facebook and Twitter updates.
