Pantech, a mobile device maker, has chosen AuthenTec’s DRM Fusion Agent to help protect high-value content on several new Android (News - Alert) 2.2-based mobile phones.

Lee said that Pantech remains dedicated to providing the company’s customers an exciting and state of the art user experience.

He said that AuthenTec (News - Alert) helped support the company’s goals by offering local assistance and also a complete, easy to integrate DRM solution that included a secure and robust implementation in a highly integrated platform that supports multiple media and DRM standards and applications.

Officials with AuthenTec said that the company’s DRM Fusion Agent Client for Android supports Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) standards, as well as Windows Media and Microsoft (News - Alert) PlayReady standards. It is available to mobile phone OEMs as a complete solution pre-integrated with popular platforms such as Android.

AuthenTec also offers an end-to-end media security solution using the AuthenTec DRM Fusion Server for carriers and network service providers.
