The launch of application Ecosystem Partner Program has led to Aepona's decision to partner with Bango (News - Alert), a provider of billing and analytics services for mobile content and applications. Both companies are concerned with developing business opportunities with operators in North America, Europe and Latin America to help drive mobile commerce revenues.
Launching of the partner program helped to establish a connection between developer communities and in-market apps and Aepona's mobile operator customers. Such a connection enabled content providers and app developer communities to access Bango's direct-to-mobile billing capabilities via Aepona's Universal Service Platform, present in the networks.
This will not only increase the choice for customers but will also create new revenue streams for operators. Partnership with Bango enables Aepona to deliver immediate revenues to operators as it opens the doors to mobile applications and content providers. For the Bango-enabled community that includes games publishers, music and media companies and more, the partnership greatly extends its market reach.
In a press release, Kevin Wagner, Aepona's senior VP of Business Development, spoke of Aepona's ability to help operators kick-start their Network as a Service initiatives or grow their existing programs to the next level.
Wagner commented on the positives of the partnership and said that operators were provided with a full mobile payments solution that delivered next-generation functionality for mobile Web and application payments. With Bango as a launch partner for the application Ecosystem program, he stated that he was looking forward to realizing the full potential of the partnership.
Anil Malhotra, SVP marketing & alliances of Bango, in a statement, spoke of the significant benefits of the partnership for its mobile content and application partners and added that Aepona was very impressed with the sophisticated carrier billing features, reliability and performance that became available when Aepona's solution was present in the network.
For more than a decade, Aepona has been providing the software engine that powers the convergence of open mobile networks, and Web and mobile applications, opening up commercial channels between multiple diverse industries and vertical market segments. It is also the technology provider for the GSMA's OneAPI (News - Alert) initiative.
Bango provides the technology that powers commerce for businesses targeting the growing market of Internet enabled mobile phone users.
In a related news release, Aepona announced that it has been chosen by TDC, Denmark's leading provider of mobile and fixed-line telecommunications services, for the provision of an advanced mobile payments solution allowing third party providers of services, applications and content to charge for these services via TDC's billing system
