Motorola (News - Alert) Mobility Technologies announced the launch of MOTO MT870, its dual-core TD-SCDMA 3G smartphone in China.

Sanjay Jha, Chairman and CEO of Motorola Mobility, Inc said in a release, “Motorola’s goal is to bring the best mobile experience to all users around the world. China is our second-largest market in the world and we have a tradition of creating premium devices and premium experiences specifically for Chinese people. The launch of MT870 and our joint app store with China Mobile (News - Alert) is a great way to continue this tradition.”

According to company sources, the device will be powered by Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”, and will feature a vivid 4-inch qHD screen and a dual-core processor with each core running at 1GHz. It is expected that MOTO MT870 will enhance the mobile browsing experience for Chinese consumers leveraging China Mobile’s 3G network.

Also MOTO MT870 will be available on Motorola and China Mobile’s new, combined Mobile Market-SHOP4APPS application store. Mobile Market-SHOP4APPS offers a huge range of applications and services as it combines the strengths, applications and capabilities of both app stores, said officials.

In a release Sha Yuejia, vice president of China Mobile Communications Corporation said, “Our partnership with Motorola has a long and successful history, and we are pleased to collaborate with Motorola on the launch of MOTO MT870 and this brand-new app store.”

“Like Motorola, China Mobile is also committed to enabling better user experiences through better software, and Mobile Market-SHOP4APPS offered the perfect opportunity for us to collaborate,” Yuejia added.

Enumerating the features of the new device, company officials revealed that it is now easier to multitask with MOTO MT870. The high-speed 2x1GHz dual-core processor, along with China Mobile’s 3G network or Wi-Fi, makes browsing fast and the phone super-responsive, enabling users to quickly open and close apps.

Users can read the latest news, check e-mails, and start a quick search simultaneously. The dedicated graphical engine-GPU, MOTO MT870 enhances performance in video, gaming and other multimedia applications. The long battery life featured by the MOTO MT870 is yet another admirable feature of the device.
