Turkcell (News - Alert) will be receiving Telco 2.0 enabled versions of Service Provider Gateway (News
- Alert) and Service Control and Management Environment (SCME) components from Telenity to transform its mobile network into an effective Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) platform.
Turkcell’s Telco 2.0 Service Provider Gateway (SPGW) will be upgraded with Telenity’s (News - Alert) Canvas CSP, Along with the upgraded SCME, the SPGW is supposed to enable the Turkcell’s Service Delivery Platform Architecture (SDPA) to support enabler catalog management, capability exposure, and consumption of in-house and third party enablers with means that suit Web 2.0 technologies.
Telenity’s Canvas CSP (News
- Alert) Converged Services Platform provides readily pluggable components of the next generation Service Delivery Environment (SDE) ecosystem and enables rapid service creation, execution, delivery and management of a large number of composite services. The platform’s flexibility was stated to be instrumental in the successful deployment of Turkcell’s Telco 2.0 SPGW.
Telenity asserted that its Telco 2.0 vision revolves around new business models and claims that for operators to create sustainable long-term differentiation, it is essential for them to experiment with two-sided markets.
It advocates emerging business models (B2B, B2C, B2B2C) to be realized through transactional platforms owned by operators and promotes exploitation of subscriber related data by operators to serve the needs of upstream and downstream players in unique ways to enable new business and partnerships.
In order to venture into new markets and at the same time maintain mobile voice and data revenues, operators should acquire the means to package and offer their network assets and service capabilities to ecosystem players and also properly serve the needs of evolving markets. Telenity’s Telco 2.0 deployment is purported to help Turkcell attain these requirements successfully.
“Thanks to Telco 2.0 infrastructure, our corporate customers are able to enrich their own services with Turkcell capabilities. This is the best and the most effective solution for our customers since they can create innovative services including mobile and its capabilities together, deliver the right service to the right customers via right channels, and save time,” noted Selen Kocabas, chief corporate business officer at Turkcell, in a press release.
