Cellcrypt Announces Secure Messaging for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android Smartphones
To further drive the importance of interoperability of secure messaging among a wider range of commercial mobile devices, Cellcrypt recently announced interoperability of encrypted messaging for three leading smartphones running on the Cellcrypt (News - Alert) Mobile. The three new smartphones added are BlackBerry, iPhone and Android smartphones.
Cellcrypt's secure messaging supports relaying of textual messages based on government-certified, end-to-end encryption among commonly used smartphones. This helps in curbing instances of standard SMS (Short Message System) and IM (Instant Messaging) getting intercepted.
In a release, Richard Greco (News - Alert), Cellcrypt CEO and chairman, said that, “As the BYOD, or Bring Your Own Devices to work, trend gathers pace, it is essential that governments and enterprises support interoperability of secure messaging among the broadest range of commercially available devices. Cellcrypt's secure messaging enables more people than ever before to communicate securely on their favorite device, while meeting enterprise objectives of easy management, rapid deployment - within minutes, if necessary - and government-grade security.”
Cellcrypt has been designed to support real-time, short-lived messages, and to reduce associated risks of interception as it does not use a messaging server. Instead, all encrypted messages are delivered directly to the connected parties. Another advantage of this is that users don’t need to worry about storing and forwarding messages they don't want whenever sending time-sensitive information. All the messages be sent immediately and get deleted as soon as the receiving party has read them.
Users deploying Cellcrypt's encrypted messaging can exchange separate messages with a number of parties all at the same time and also exchange information without having to disrupt meetings. Cellcrypt also allows the use to remaining undercover during covert operations and can save valuable time during the sharing of specific data such as names and addresses or logistical information and reference numbers.
Cellcrypt Mobile, which is a software-only-solution, simplifies secure calling via a downloadable application which supports encrypted voice calling for off-the-shelf cell phones that are based on government-certified security. Cellcrypt products are certified under the FIPS 140-2 standard, which is approved by the US National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).
