Power amplifiers for wireless and broadband applications help the companies to save power. The users of these amplifiers can also save engineering time and maintain the world’s most advanced wireless and mobile broadband devices by using less power. They can also achieve 3G and 4G performance and deliver high RF output power, high linearity and efficiency.
ANADIGICS, a company that provides such power amplifiers, recently announced that its AWT6621 fourth generation High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP4) power amplifiers (PAs) have been selected by NEC (News - Alert) CASIO Mobile Communications for the new MEDIAS IS11N.
For WCDMA devices operating in UMTS2100 (Band 1) and for CDMA devices operating in Band Class 6, the AWT6621 HELP4 PA is a 4th generation HELP product. This product makes use of ANADIGICS’ HELP4 technology to provide improved efficiency at low power levels and low quiescent current. The product does not need external voltage regulators or converters. The device is manufactured with the help of advanced InGaP-Plus HBT technology, which provides advanced reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness, the company stated in a press release.
“The selection of our industry-leading HELP4 power amplifier by NEC CASIO Mobile Communications for the MEDIAS smartphone validates the performance advantages offered by our products," said Michael Canonico, senior vice president of worldwide sales at ANADIGICS. "Our proven high-volume manufacturing capabilities coupled with support centers located around the world allow us to deliver superior service to multiple leading wireless device manufacturers. We are proud to expand our successful relationship with NEC CASIO Mobile Communications and look forward to working together.”
In 2010, TMC’s (News - Alert) Anil Sharma reported that Novatel Wireless, a company that offers wireless broadband access solutions for use in portable personal computers, handheld computing and mobile devices, selected ANADIGICS WCDMA/HSPA and EDGE power amplifiers (PAs) for two new wireless HSPA+ Mobile Broadband USB modems. Novatel Wireless' (News - Alert) Ovation MC996D and MC998D wireless broadband USB modems have received industry compliance from the Global Certification Forum (GCF).
