All-fiber optic network service provider, Cinergy MetroNet, is using Integra5’s Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP (News - Alert)) to power the market-wide launch of i5's TV Caller ID application.
Marketed as Caller ID on TV, Cinergy MetroNet’s new service is part of the company’s strategy to deliver value-added services that drive customer loyalty and new revenues across its bundled offerings. Cinergy MetroNet is including the service as part of its high-value triple-play bundle and is also offering it for a separate fee of $2.95 per month to subscribers of its dual play TV and phone services.
Integra5 (News - Alert) officials explain that subscribers can organize contacts for Caller ID on TV notifications and customize them with photos and nicknames by accessing a Network Address Book via Cinergy MetroNet’s customer Web portal. In addition, subscribers can view a Call Log on TV and manage call settings, such as turning the notifications on or off and specifying how long caller ID information remains on the TV screen.
Cinergy MetroNet’s investment in an all-fiber optic network represents its commitment to providing an unparalleled user experience for customers, according to Kevin Stelmach, vice president at Cinergy MetroNet. Integra5's Converged Services Platform allows them to consistently deliver on this commitment through advanced, value-added services that their subscribers can personalize and control. The Platform offers the flexibility to meet their subscribers’ changing communications preferences with the addition of other new real-time communications services across TVs, PCs, and landline and mobile phones.
The network-based, distributed architecture of the platform can scale to support millions of subscribers; works in cable, IPTV (News - Alert), and hybrid video and telephony networks; and supports IMS, tru2way and EBIF environments.
Integra5’s Converged Services Platform allows operators to launch new applications across multiple devices in a matter of weeks, in contrast to the months or years it can often take to develop proprietary, standalone applications in-house.
Ed Perry, vice president of sales at Integra5, stated that once deployed in the network, the i5 CSP allows service providers like Cinergy MetroNet to quickly and easily roll out a range of new converged communications services that reach all user devices. All this can be achieved with no need to install new in-home equipment or software and layering on sticky subscriber features, such as social media and personalization capabilities.
