T-Mobile USA reportedly has partnered with Yahoo! to facilitate mobile Internet searches made through T-Mobile’s (News - Alert) new web2goSM service with the help of Yahoo! oneSearch.

Companies like Yahoo! and Google are fast realizing that mobile search can be the next big thing in the search marketing arena. By its very nature and functionality, mobile search provides more opportunities to deliver marketing content directly to the palms of the customer.

For customers who search through T-Mobile’s web2go, Yahoo! oneSearch provides content such as news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr photos and Web images, to Web and mobile web sites. Yahoo! claims that its oneSearch is intuitive enough to understand the intent of the users’ query and return appropriate results.

According to David Ko, senior vice president of Connected Life at Yahoo, the oneSearch tool revolutionized the mobile search experience, by delivering relevant answers to queries that mobile users have while on-the-go.

“More than 70 leading mobile operators around the world selected Yahoo! to power the mobile search experiences, providing us with an enormous opportunity to connect mobile consumers,” Ko said.

As TMCnet has reported, Yahoo’s oneSearch has partnered with companies such as Novarra to support real-time video streaming. The platform works across all handset tiers and Yahoo! hopes that the wide range of Vision-compatible devices bolsters their already popular oneSearch product.

T-Mobile and Yahoo! have now decided to mobile sponsored search results with this service. The service will even display advertising within the search results presented through T-Mobile’s web2go. With this, Yahoo! has gained one more avenue to make early inroads into the highly potential mobile search marketing.

Yahoo! believes that with this partnership, the company is allowing advertisers to reach their target audiences at large scale and make some serious impact in the process. The company believes that the service it provides via Yahoo! oneSearch will help the marketers to establish connections with the customers even when they are on the go.

Web2go, which already includes features such as personalized internet access will be bolstered by an integrated mobile search powered by Yahoo! oneSearch, says T-Mobile. The company believes that its customers will now have access to highly relevant information right on their fingertips.
