DeltaCom, formerly known as ITC^DeltaCom, recently announced that its primary service application, Simpli-Mobile (SM), is now available to its customers who buy the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition and BlackBerry Curve 8330. The intelligence of these already savvy phones from Research In Motion (RIM) gets further boosted when used with SM.
SM provides, besides voice on phones, a combination of packages, for customers via one of its principal tools - hosted Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange Server (shortened to MXS). SM developers have designed User Interfaces (UI) for good looks, ease of navigation and intuitive usage. SM requires little training and the hardware for SM related services, when and if required, is affordable. One offer is have SM as a small part of a comprehensive solution known as Simpli-Business(SM). Video recording is also available at extra cost.
MXS is a communications and information software developed for digital data exchange, and event coordination activities, such as push mail, POP3 e-mail, messaging, browsing on the Web, multimedia, contacts, and calendars. Push e-mail is an email facility that is always on. Whenever a new mail is sensed, the system is activated to deliver it from the server to the client for instant display and is irrespective of other ongoing tasks. In Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) email, however, a user has to keep checking to see the mail status.
BlackBerry (News - Alert) is a hand held wireless device developed in 1999 to support the applications and services mentioned earlier. The Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) is a software solution that connects different applications together.
SM, MXS and BES are synchronized to deliver efficiently.
DeltaCom, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) telecommunications and Internet services and solutions provider company, has a strong presence in the south-eastern region of USA in fourteen states.
