Bytemobile has reportedly enhanced its existing deployment at T-Mobile (News - Alert) International with an F5 solution that provides scalable network capacity to serve the mobile content delivery needs of T-Mobile customers.
For T-Mobile International, Bytemobile (News - Alert) has integrated the F5 VIPRION on-demand Application Delivery Controller with its Unison Mobile Internet Platform installed in the core data path of the network. The integration has resulted in increased network scalability, availability and performance for the delivery of value-added mobile data services to T-Mobile customers.
Bytemobile is also collaborating with F5 to deliver scalable and secure mobile Internet solutions to wireless network operators worldwide.
The volume and mix of T-Mobile International’s network traffic changed dramatically over the last year as the company experienced significant growth in data adoption and usage for both mobile broadband and mobile Internet applications.
T-Mobile has been able to scale the capacity of its 3G network thanks to Bytemobile’s Internet gateway, traffic control and optimization solutions, which are now combined with F5’s Application Delivery Networking capabilities.
Adrian Hall, chief marketing officer of Bytemobile informed that the Apple iPhone (News - Alert), USB dongles, mobile video, and other factors have caused data traffic on tier-one networks to grow at rates of 10 percent to 15 percent per month.
Hall emphasized the need for operators to protect and extend their network assets, and pointed out that they must minimize churn by delivering rich, personalized data services that build brand loyalty with their customers.
Dan Matte, senior vice president of marketing and business development at F5 also indicated that their collaboration with Bytemobile helps them assure mobile network operators that their networks will support their current business objectives, and will also rapidly respond to new revenue opportunities.
“Now operators can benefit from the scalability, availability and IT agility that F5 has traditionally delivered to large enterprises and telecommunications networking companies. We look forward to working with Bytemobile to help operators worldwide increase their competitive edge and enrich their data services for customers,” said Matte.
